Treated for Fleas, Ticks and Worms

Greetings, my name is Duchess. I was rescued by Filey Cat Rescue from under the Spa Bridge in Scarborough. I had been living under the bridge all of my life in a small group of cats, including my roommate Dougie and my friend Bagpuss. When the council wanted to refurbish the area we were living in, we were no longer able to stay there and were at risk of being put down. So, we were brought to Little Heroes Sanctuary to live the life of luxury.

When we arrived, we were covered in flea nests and were in a really bad way! My fleas were so bad that the nests had to be cut out of my fur in order to give me a chance of recovering. When I arrived, it was also discovered that I was blind and had respiratory problems. Like my good pal Dougie, I too have to have a monthly steroid injection to keep my lungs in tip-top condition.

Since our arrival, we have come a long way. Once afraid of humans and unwilling to be handled, we are now changed cats! I love a cuddle off Tina here at Filey Cat Rescue, and although I'm not too keen, I do let her groom me when needed. As we have complex needs, Dougie and I have found our forever home here at the sanctuary! If you would like to support us, you can do so by donating!
