Hullo! Let me introduce myself – I’m Dougie. I turned from a frightened boy to one who loves all the cuddles I can get from our Head of Operations, Tina. I came to Little Heroes Sanctuary in February 2021 with my friends Bagpuss and Duchess after being rescued from Scarborough Spa Bridge. The team at Filey Cat Rescue heard of our plight and offered to take us in rather than us having to be put down just because we didn’t have an owner!

I’m quite the changed man these days, no longer needing to worry about where my next meal is coming from. I now am incredibly well fed and I enjoy a life of luxury with my old friend Duchess. We have a lovely enclosure which has an incredible three different sections and in the summer months, you can often find us basking in the sun.

I haven’t been without my troubles though and I am quite accustomed to visiting the vets for regular treatment. I have a monthly steroid injection to prevent me getting fluid on my lungs and development pneumonia-type illnesses.
