Greetings. I’m Dennis and I’m one of the county’s finest mousers and I’ve been residing at the Little Heroes Sanctuary since November 2021. I was rescued from a local waste disposal site as head of the feral colony and although I was lucky enough to be rescued and given a nice new home here, there were many others who weren’t lucky enough to survive the lifestyle!

Although Filey Cat Rescue were originally looking to rehome me, they've now had a change of heart. When looking to rehome farm cats such as myself, Filey Cat Rescue have a slightly different process to help us transition. Cats like me are given a bespoke, large box kitted out with bedding as our beds when we arrive here. Then when we go off to our new home, our trusty box goes with us along with a small collapsible enclosure for the first two weeks to ensure that we have time to settle in to our new area. In order to ensure that this new system worked, the team here have tried and tested it with me. I took to it easy as pie and everyone felt I was too happy enjoying my new life here to be rehomed. At Filey Cat Rescue, we have loads of space: barns, stables and rolling fields, but I don't go to far! I go out for a little explore at night, mainly in the long grass next to my box and then I return for my meal times. If you would like to support me and my other friends here at the sanctuary, you can do so by donating to Filey Cat Rescue.
